Personal Growth

The day that an individual stops growing is the day that he dies!

It might be a melodramatic statement but it is true. If a person is not simulated intellectually on a regular basis he will stagnate. It is for this personal growth to take place that we have training workshops. If a person keeps getting challenged he gets involved and stays active.

The Personal Growth workshop covers the following modules

1. Personal Vision and Identity
2. Understanding Self (Johari Window)
3. Transactions, Games and Life Scripts
4. Understanding Yourself
5. Boosting Self Confidence
6. Emotional Intelligence
7. ABC of Personal Stress Management
8. Social Etiquette
9. Eating Etiquette
10. Time Management
11. Goal Setting
12. Interview Skills
13. Dealing with Failure
14. Creative Problem Solving
15. Art of Self Empowerment

Should suffice to say that if this workshop is attended, the participant will have a whole lot of material to think about.

Personal Effectiveness In Groups

Man is a social being and it is natural that he will live and work in groups. While it is easy to live in a social group that one has existed in since birth some help is needed for the transition to being a valuable contributor of a work group. It is with this in mind that the training workshop for personal effectiveness through groups was designed.

The work shop will help you with the following areas

1. Understanding Personal Leadership Style
2. Understanding Group Dynamics
3. Working with Effective Teams
4. Decision Making
5. Group Decision Making
6. Conflict Resolution between Groups
7. Negotiations
8. Cross Cultural Understanding and Communication
9. Understanding Change and its Dynamics

Each individual has something to contribute to the effectiveness of a group. Just as one rotten apple can spoil the rest, it is important to spot the spoiler in human groups. The solution to dealing with the spoiler is not to chuck him out of the basket but to understand his problem and solve it.

This is a managerial skill that you will need to rely on more and more as you go up the metaphorical ladder of success.

Effective Communication Is Vital For Success

All everyone is talking about these days is "Communication Skills".

While it is good that you can communicate, it is not enough for companies these days who are looking for "Effective Communicators". Unfortunately it is a much abused and little understood term. Thankfully we at Carve not only understand what it means, but can train you to be very good at it.

Here is what a typical Communication Effectiveness workshop will entail
1. Effective Communication
2. Types of Communication
3. Non Verbal Communication and Body Language
4. Listening Skills
5. One to One Communication
6. Image Enhancement
7. Communication Etiquette
8. Purpose of Communication
9. Basic Communication and Its Flow
10. Audience Analysis
11. One to Group Communication
12. Business Etiquette
13. Communicating Within a Group
14. Managing Meetings

This comprehensive workshop will deal with all forms of communication from the telephone, to the emails that you need to send. From the speeches and presentations that you must give, to the private entertaining that you must do. From what you must write in a letter or a proposal, to how you must behave in person. It deals with any practical situation that you might routinely find yourself in while at work.

Pre Employment Training

So you have struggled through school, given the boards and got the right percentage. Finally got through the correct college and are now about to finish studies as a (post) graduate, but you don't know how to land that dream job. No problem. That's what the Carve Consultancy's Pre Employment Training is all about.

This two day workshop will literally change the direction of your life. It will help you understand how you can use your strengths and leverage your weaknesses. It will help you set goals for your future and develop a career plan. It will help you to get that attention grabbing cover letter to go with your professional resume.

This training workshop will expand your horizons and make you think like the employers you seek to impress. It will enable you to understand what qualities a future employer will look for in you. If you do your research correctly about your potential employers you have a far greater chance of working with them in the future.

Perhaps the most important part of the workshop is teaching you how to deal with the job interview that you will face. The actual questions that you might face are accompanied by suggestions for answers. The group discussion or GD that you will face and how you should prepare for it are all covered in this two day workshop.

Here's a look at the highlights of this two day workshop

1. Personal Vision and Career Planning
2. Employment Related Communication
3. Business and Professional Etiquette
4. Preparing for Group Discussions
5. Preparing for Job Interviews
6. Developing a Positive Attitude

It takes all factors that you shall have to face into consideration and helps you deal with them all.

School Children Need Training

Unfortunately in India not much attention is paid to "Life Skills" in school. The sorry state of sports is well known, as is the thrust on scoring well in examinations. Yet there is no place that the student can learn how to enhance study techniques or improve memory and concentration. There is no where that the child can learn how to cope with the enormous stress that parent's and their own expectations place on them. This is where Carve Consultancy can help.

Our training seminar for school children focuses on the need of the day by making the children more aware of what they are capable of. They also learn interesting techniques that they can use in daily life and apply with some imagination to their studies as well. The mentors of the children, namely parents and teachers are also invited to part of the seminar where we help give them tools that improve interpersonal communication with the children.

The highlight is that the child leans to balance learning with his or her own emotional needs. The self awareness that there is more to life than being a student is vital in these times when one keeps hearing of stress leading to suicide for many students. We also have tools to help profile the students personality. This will help the child and mentors better understand the aptitude and interest of the child. Not only does it help in career counseling it also gives an insight into the child's talents and abilities.

Here is a preview of what the course content is like

1. Enhancing Memory
2. Stress Management (Students)
3. Effective Study Habits
4. Personal Vision
5. Art of Public Speaking (Speeches and Presentations)
6. Verbal and Non Verbal Communication
7. Interpersonal Communication (Introduction, Group Discussions)
8. Personality Profiling

For the Mentors the modules used include

1. ABC of Stress Management
2. Innovative Teaching Methods (Train the Trainer)
3. Psychological Well Being
4. Understanding Self / Personal Growth Lab
5. Personal Vision and Goal Setting
6. Interpersonal Communication

Some special sessions can be included on
1. Time Management using Pizza to do lists
2. Goal setting using time lines
3. SWOT Analysis and TOWS matrix
4. Search for Identity using symbol and role model

Learning by doing is a new concept to students who are used to the "rote" method. It takes the child a while to understand that the sessions will be far more interactive than a regular class. After that is understood, the children warm up to the seminar and start getting actively involved in the learning process.

Carve Consultancy

The training needs of the Indian workforce have changed drastically over the last couple of decades. The regular schooling and college education does not equip students with the desired work skills that companies look for. It is to meet this short fall that additional training is needed.

This training is needed at four different levels. The first is at the school level. The children in school need to be exposed to the global conditions that they must face in the work place before they can make an informed career decision

The second is at the undergraduate level. Here the students need an insight into the various industries that they are training for. They need to be trained specifically to get a job in a field of their interest. Some interview skills and communication skills need to be developed here.

The third level of training is needed at the post graduate level, or even of the professionals already in a job. This is the fine coat of varnish that helps them shine brighter than their colleagues. It is also the most important stage at which training can be imparted to them as students.

The fourth and final level does not deal with the training of students but of their trainers and teachers. The caretakers and faculty of schools and colleges also need training in how to change their teaching methods in the present work environment.

At Carve we offer workshops for all four levels of training. In fact each training workshop is specially designed to handle the training needs of that particular organization. No two modules we run are exactly the same.
